An Australian man narrowly escaped being hacked to death by a meat cleaver in a Melbourne hotel. The intended victim stepped outside for an extremely well-timed cigarette break, and the not-so-clever cleaver-yielding assassin mistakenly went after someone else.

The attack appears to be arranged by a woman and her two daughters. The woman, Wendy Pierce, is pictured below. I can only imagine what was going on THERE.
And what happened to our extremely unlucky, albeit health-conscious victim? He was left with a nasty gash across his face. Aesthetically unpleasing but, fortunately, life sparing.
